NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

Mr. Kiprono Kittony is the current National Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the premiere business membership organization in Kenya. He is a well-known personality in the business leadership circles in Kenya having served in several capacities including being the immediate past Chairman of the Media Owners Association, an influential lobby group of Kenyan media. He is currently the Vice Chairman of ICC World Chambers Federation and also Honorary Consul of Hungary in Kenya.

Mr. Kittony has been widely credited with the revival of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry which has been restored to its past glory through a series of transformations during his tenure. He is a current council member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) -World Chamber Federation (WCF). On May 2017, due on his contribution and commitment to both ICC and WCF, he was appointed to serve as the Vice Chair of the World Chamber Federation representing Africa with effect from 1st June- December 2018.

An active player in business, he also chairs on the following boards; – AAR Insurance Limited, Mtech Limited and Radio Africa Group (which he co-founded in 2000), Betway Limited and also serves as CEO of Capital Realtime Limited.

Married with four children, Mr. Kittony also participates actively in several philanthropic projects.

Mr. James Mureu is the current National Vice Chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a banker by profession having worked in the Central Bank of Kenya for more than ten years before joining the private sector as a businessman based in Mombasa. In his professional experience gained over the last twenty years as a businessman in the private sector he has undertaken investment and trade missions covering all markets in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. All this has enlightened him well in the international corporate culture and the ways of doing successful business in various spots in the world.

Mr. Mureu has vast experience in the imports and exports business having served as a director in one of the most successful logistics company in Kenya before relocating to Australia for five years where he successfully managed to get Kenya’s tea and coffee into the Australian market.
Mr. Mureu is a Businessman, Founder of Master Conveyors Ltd, a reputable logistics company. He is also the former Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mombasa County Branch and current Chairman of Economic Diplomacy Committee at the Chamber. He was nominated by KNCCI to represent it on the Board of the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (EACCIA) and was EACCIA Board Chairman till January 2015. He also serves as a board member of the International Chamber of Commerce, local representative office in Kenya giving valuable support to its leadership.

MARY MUTHONI MURIUKI

Mary Muthoni Muriuki is the 1st elected female director (Women & Gender) at the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce & Industry and the Founding & Executive Director of St- Petroc Primary School (leading in 2016 KCPE results in Embu County). Her entire professional experience, personal initiatives, community work and business endeavors culminate in interlocking interests to promote trade & gender inclusivity in trade. She serves as the Chairperson of Women In Business-KNCCI and Champions trade & gender inclusion in the private sector and public sector through establishment of Women In Business Kenya (WIB-KNCCI).
Her contribution in the public sector has received recognition from the Council of Governors making her the current award holder of the 2017 Devolution Warrior Award, due to her role in promoting Women Empowerment in Delivery of Public Service particularly in championing women’s access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) and Women Enterprise Fund. Mary has also engaged in high level trade dialogues in various Global, National and County Level forums on topics touching on women in trade and leadership in business such as EMPRETEC, International Trade Centre and Barclays partnership launch #SheTrades and other BMO workshops.
She actively advocated for women inclusivity in trade during the high level trade expert & stakeholder meetings such as United Nation Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) expert meetings on gender and trade in Geneva, Switzerland on inclusive trade and digital economy, Tokyo International Conference on Africa’s Development (TICAD VI) and High Level Meeting in Nairobi (HLM2) among others. Further, Mary has headed the British Council Program for Schools and appointed to represent the Sub Saharan countries together with the lead Kenyan Music group; Sauti Sol in London (Corn Wall). She sits in a number of National Boards and holds a Bachelor of Education from Catholic University and completed her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Management and Marketing (Awaiting Graduation).
Mary is married with four children. The family is an integral institution and has been her anchor in all she does.

Mr. Tenga is a director at KNCCI representing Nairobi Region and sits at the Chamber Assets Committee. He also served as the Nairobi County Chapter chairman. Mr. Tenga holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminology and Security studies and owns Kamata Smart Solutions Limited, a business venture dealing with security items and electrical products. He has served the chamber for 15years.

Mr. Miungi is currently serving as a director at KNCCI representing Eastern Region and the current chairman of KNCCI Meru County Chapter.
He is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University (KeMu). Mr. Miungi is a Certified Public Accountant holder from Strathmore University College, Nairobi. Miungi is a philanthropist, robust entrepreneur and a developer with interest in petroleum, real estate and auto industry. He’s the founder and managing director of Millenium Dealers limited (MDL), MDL investment Company Ltd and MDL Auto Ltd whose core business is import distribution and retail of petroleum products, real estate development and sole distributor of Toyo tires from Japan and Otani from Thailand respectively.
In addition to serving as a director at KNCCI, Mr. Miungi also seats in other Boards, he is the Vice Chairman of Nanyuki Sports Club, board member of Meru Town Management Board and Meru Water and Sewerage Company among others

Paul Ouma is a Director at the National Board of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also a member of the Board`s Executive Committee. He was elected and has been serving as the Chairman of the Council of Directors at the Homabay County Chapter of KNCCI. He serves on other boards and advisory committees like the Kenya Red Cross Society and other private companies.
Paul is a professional family business consultant at the Institute for Family Business (IFFB) where he serves as the principal consultant. IFFB is company that focuses on helping entrepreneurial families and owner-managers tackle the complexities of family business governance, succession planning, strategy and next-generation education and engagement. He is also a corporate trainer in corporate governance, strategic-entrepreneurship and negotiation He is a faculty member at Strathmore Business School (SBS), Nairobi. He also has business interests in education, farming, hospitality and real estate.
Paul is a member of Toastmasters, a Rotarian and is an avid golfer.

Fatma Elmaawy is a management consultant, trainer and a performance (business) coach. She is a serial entrepreneur and is currently the Managing consultant at Milestones Resource Solutions, an International Finance Corporation (IFC) franchise holder in the Business Edge training methodology. She works with both for profit and non -profit organizations in the areas of advocacy, organizational effectiveness; sustainability & growth as well as creation of opportunities in these two segments.
Fatma is the first and only Kenyan woman to head a foreign international airline in Kenya. She started her aviation career at Kenya Airways, moved to Emirates Airline and finally to Qatar Airways as the Country Manager. Her contributions in the airline industry include Strategic Alliances; Bilateral Air Service Agreements, Product development, Franchising & Branding in various markets in Africa and Middle East. Amongst her achievements is the facilitation & creation of Msafiri Club Kenya Airway’s CRM (Customer Relationship Program); establishing Emirates in Uganda & Tanzania; and growth of Qatar in Kenya.
Fatma left a career in the aviation industry to go into business. She is fascinated with learning and is passionate about people development. Her mission & passion is to nurture and grow people / organizations to their fullest potential irrespective of their starting point. Fatma combines efficiency & imagination to produce bottom line results. She tackles all assignments whether business related or personal with enthusiasm and fun without losing focus of the results. She firmly believes that each human being has inborn GOD given talents.
Fatma builds capacity through training facilitation, performance coaching and mentoring. As a business advisor, Fatma mentors with the Cherie Blair Foundation, London; We Create, Kenya; and the Women Business Network of World Islamic Economic Forum, Malaysia.
She graduated with a degree in Economics in her undergraduate and an MBA in strategic management with a minor in entrepreneurship from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, Fatma is a master trainer with IFC, a certified Advocacy trainer with Business Advocacy Fund (BAF) and a Business Ethics & Sustainability trainer with the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).

Mr. Simon Koech is the current KNCCI Chairman of Kericho County Chapter, the National Director representing South Rift region and also the Human Resource Director at the Chamber. He is businessman based in Kericho with specialty in the transport, hospitality and auto spares sectors among others.

Mr. Kihara Njuguna holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B Hons) from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Diploma in Information Studies from Kenya School of Professional Studies .He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
His area of specialization lies in; Legal Research, Banking, Corporate, Intellectual Property, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Commercial and Conveyancing Law. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya & East African Law Society.
He is an experienced Legal Researcher of more than 20 years standing having started off at the University of Nairobi’s Law Library where he worked for 14 years. He has been involved in numerous legal assignments involving complex legal research and analysis on a wide range of issues for both governmental and public benefit organisations which have entailed preparation of legal opinions, advice, briefs, commentaries and reports.

Kihara has been the Managing Partner at Kihara Njuguna & Co Advocates where he has led a team of advocates dedicated to the provision of legal services mainly in the areas of commercial and general litigation and conveyancing. He strongly believes that Efficiency, Integrity, Confidentiality and Absolute Commitment to a Client’s cause are the hallmarks of a sound Client-Advocate relationship and should be strictly observed by any practicing advocate worth his/her salt.
He is currently the Managing Partner at EKN LLP Advocates. Kihara is a Board Member of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA). He also seats in the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) as Secretary among others.
